WEST PORTSMOUTH — Wings Of Healing Worship Center would like to announce that the Student of the Month for May 2016 has been awarded to Joshua Holsinger.
Holsinger will be 12 years old this month and attends West Portsmouth Middle School where he is on the B Honor Roll and plays saxophone for the band.
He enjoys hunting, basketball and collecting things from Ohio State. His favorite quote is “Just Do It,” his favorite Bible verse is II Corinthians 10:4 and the person he most admires is his Dad, Pastor Chuck Holsinger, because he works really hard. Joshua is a member of The Army Of God Drama Team, sings, and has recently become the MC of the Youth Explosion service on the last Tuesday of each month at Wings Of Healing.
Pastor Holsinger said Joshua is a blessing to their family.
“Joshua is a blessing to Sis. Holsinger and I. He is always willing to come and work on things at the church or things related to ministry. He is a great reflection of the heart of God. Joshua works hard to excel in whatever he has committed himself to,” Pastor Holsinger said. “His smile is contagious and his laughter brings joy to my heart! I look forward to being front and center watching all the great things he will accomplish in life and ministry.”
Joshua Holsinger is an avid learner of the Bible and possesses passion about learning the holy scriptures, according to Pastor Holsinger.
“Joshua is passionate about learning the Bible. He is also very enthusiastic about learning his weekly Bible verse. He is a joy to have in class because he is always willing to help me and other kids and consistently participates in class. I know God has great things ahead for this young man,” Pastor Holsinger said.
Dunia Mershon, Sunday School Coordinator at WOHW, said Joshua Holsinger is a compassionate person.
“Josh is very compassionate. He’s always willing to pray with and for others and lend a helping hand.
It is also said of Holsinger by his Sunday School teacher, Kim Baker that he comes to class prepared and ready to participate, and has a great sense of humor and a big heart.
