Nearly $11,000 in cash, heroin, pills and other drugs and drug paraphernalia were confiscated and two people arrested Saturday after a search warrant was executed in Franklin Furnace.

OSHP troopers said they stopped a vehicle occupied by Robert Lee Bradley, 51, of 6 Wesley Street in Franklin Furnace and Kylie C. Cox, 23, of 742 Herms Hill Road in Wheelersburg for moving violations on Ohio 140 in Portsmouth, and seized approximately 30 grams of heroin.

Task Force detectives obtained a search warrant for Bradley’s Franklin Furnace residence and with assistance from troopers executed the warrant at approximately 3:49 a.m. on Sunday.

At approximately 10:55 p.m. Saturday, detectives from the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force with assistance from a Scioto County Sheriff’s Office deputy assigned to Green Township arrested Bradley and Cox at Bradley’s residence for indictment warrants related to multiple felony drug charges.

Detectives and troopers seized another 25 grams of heroin, 94 Methadone 10-milligram pills, 132 grams of liquid Methadone, 7 Suboxone sublingual film packets, digital scales containing trace amounts of heroin, $10,921.00 cash, and property believed to be derived from the proceeds of drug trafficking.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said the two were arrested after being indicted by a Scioto County grand jury for drug-related felony offenses.

The charges stemmed from a joint investigation conducted by the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol in December of 2015.

Upon the case being presented to a Scioto County grand jury by task force detectives, troopers, and the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office, Bradley and Cox were indicted for the criminal offenses of trafficking in and possession of heroin, both felonies of the second degree, and tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree.

Bradley was additionally indicted for the offenses of trafficking in and possession of methadone, both felonies of the second degree, and possession of criminal tools, a felony of the fifth degree.

Bradley and Cox were placed in the Scioto County Jail and are being held without bail until they are arraigned in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.

Donini and Ware said anyone wishing to leave drug information for the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force can contact the Task Force tip line at 740-354-5656 or email [email protected]. All information will be kept confidential and anonymous.
