2 to 4 inches of snow forecast

Two to four inches of snow are on the way. After a brief reprieve with temperatures soaring into the upper sixties, we will get somewhat of a payback beginning Monday.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a winter weather advisory for snow which is in effect from 6 p.m. Monday evening to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Snow showers will result in snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches over a 36 hour period, Monday night through Tuesday night.

Rain showers will transition over to snow showers later, Monday evening, and occasional snow showers will then continue Monday night through Tuesday night. The impact will include travel difficulties, due to reduced visibilities and snow accumulations.

Remember, a winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primary travel difficulties. You should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio for the latest updates. Additional details can also be found at www.weather.gov/iln as well as on the NWS Facebook and Twitter pages.
