The New Boston Alumni Association held its 21st annual alumni banquet on Saturday, July 30, 2016. The 2016-17 Glenwood High School cheerleaders entertained 118 alumni members attending the event. Mr. Tom Seth gave the invocation. A buffet style dinner and dancing followed.

Scholarship recipients include:

McKensey Lawless -2015 Valedictorian, daughter of Daniel & Kimberly (Holbrook) Lawless (’82) received a $750 New Boston Alumni Association Merit Scholarship. She attends Shawnee State University majoring in Bio-medical science with concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine.

Sara Adkins – 2013 Valedictorian, daughter of Raymond Adkins (’77) and Sherry (Hodges) Adkins (’79) received a $ 750 Merit Scholarship. She attends Morehead State University majoring in Legal Studies.

Audrianna Lindamood – 2013 Salutatorian, daughter of Christine Norris received a $ 750 New Boston Alumni Association Merit Scholarship. She attends Shawnee State University majoring in Early Childhood Education.

Mariah Speas – 2015, daughter of JD Easter & Amy (Perkins) Easter (’90) received a $ 500 Estalene Rickey Scholarship. She attends Morehead State University majoring in Respiratory Therapy.

Aimee Blankenship – 2016 Valedictorian, daughter of Theresa Blankenship and Jason Blankenship received a $ 500 Estalene Rickey Scholarship. She will be attending Shawnee State University majoring in Criminal Justice.

Katherine Meehan – 2013, daughter of Michael Meehan & Donna (Kindinger) Meehan (’80) received a $ 500 Theora Rickey Scholarship. She attends Shawnee State University majoring in Education.

Kiersten McGraw – 2014, daughter of Samantha Hamilton (’94) and the late Thomas Branham (’93) received a $ 500 Theora Rickey Scholarship. She attends Shawnee State University majoring in Radiology.

Rosella Riepenhoff, Glenwood High School Class of 1941 was recognized as the oldest female attending the banquet. Lowell Grose, Glenwood High School Class of 1941was recognized as the oldest male attending the banquet. The Class of 1941 celebrated their 75th anniversary of their Graduation from Glenwood High School. The Class of 1941 was the first class to play in the New Boston Stadium. Rosella played in the band and Lowell played football.

Mr. Jon Wickline, Glenwood High School Class of 1954 was the guest speaker. He spoke of the history of the Village of New Boston and the School District.

Deborah (Thomas) Page (’66) was recognized for her years of service to the Alumni Association.
