Back at the top level of the sport after a seven-year absence, ORLEN Rally Poland makes a highly anticipated return to the FIA World Rally Championship calendar in 2024. It’s the second-oldest rally in the world – behind only Rallye Monte-Carlo – and was first run in 1921.

This event has always been one to keep drivers on their toes, and this year will be no different with plenty of action guaranteed on the blisteringly-quick gravel roads. Poland kicks off a run of three back-to-back high-speed gravel events in Europe, followed by Latvia and Finland.

SS1/SS8/SS12: Mikołajki Arena (2.5km)

Opened in 2009, this purpose-built arena for rallying marked the return of a modern-era WRC round to Poland. The track, which has a hard gravel surface throughout, is designed for head-to-head duels between two cars simultaneously. Mikołajki Arena forms part of the Rally Poland complex, which includes the event’s headquarters and service park.

SS2/SS5 Stańczyki (29.4km)

This is the longest and easternmost test of the rally. It starts very close to the famous railway bridges built in 1917 and 1918 and runs for the third time in Rally Poland, though with a different route than previously used in 2015 and 2016. This picturesque stage, featuring plenty of downhill and uphill sections, is one of Poland’s iconic stages.

SS3/SS6 Wieliczki (12.9km)

Introduced for the first time in 2022, the stage has been shortened for 2024 with the inclusion of a new opening section. It’s a very demanding stage with changeable characteristics and a jump 9.35km after the start.

SS4/SS7 Olecko (13.2km)

Parts of this stage are well-known from previous editions of the event, although it was last used in 2021. Narrow and technical passages combine with fast and wide sections, while most of the road surface is new gravel. The Rosochackie jump, located 3.1km after the start, is one of the most spectacular locations in the rally.

SS9/SS13 Świętajno (18.5km)

A well-known stage, previously used in a number of configurations. For 2024, the route remains the same as last year. Again, narrow and technical passages combine with fast and wide sections.

SS10/SS14 Gołdap (19.9km)

This stage has been used on five previous occasions, the last being in 2018, albeit in various configurations. This year it runs in the opposite direction to 2017.

SS11/SS15 Czarne (22.4km)

The second-longest stage of the rally. Several sections were previously used between 2014 and 2016 when it was known as ‘Babki’. There are small jumps and a plentiful mixture of fast and slow corners surrounded by spectacular scenery.

SS16/SS18 Gmina Mrągowo (20.8km)

A popular stage among spectators, and relatively local to the service park and rally HQ. The stage has been extended since 2023 and now incorporates a longer route, winding its way along the picturesque Juksty Lake

SS17/SS19 Mikołajki (10.73km)

The final stage of the rally. It starts out on rural gravel roads before a short Tarmac section leads the cars into the Mikołajki Arena, where the winners will be crowned.
