How to watch a free Wimbledon live stream from anywhere: Every match covered

The famous grasscourt Grand Slam tennis tournament returns for two weeks of world-class matchups as the finest players in the game head to England. We have great news, too, we can help show you how to watch a free Wimbledon live stream for every match thanks to a comprehensive set of international viewing options.

It’s pretty simple, really, thanks to the whole competition being broadcast on TV and online for free in the UK via the BBC. You’ll need to head online for the best coverage, as the iPlayer covers all 19 courts. If you’re not actually in the UK today, geo-blocking will stop you from watching unless you use a VPN (virtual private network). These handy apps let your devices mimic a UK location so you can carry on watching Wimbledon online for free. We’ll show you how further down this page if you don’t have one already.

VPNs aren’t just for accessing global streaming options, though. They also add a layer of security to your phone, PC, laptop, and more devices by protecting your online privacy. We’d seriously recommend using them on any public WiFi network, too. But yes, we mainly use them to save a small fortune on overpriced sports streaming apps.

How to watch a free Wimbledon live stream from anywhere
Free Wimbledon is very much a thing and is as simple as can be if you’re already in the UK, as the BBC is showing live footage every day across the BBC channels and the Red Button. Head online to the iPlayer, though, and you’ll find even more matches from the vast selection of courts at the All England Club. The iPlayer doesn’t feature the irritating drop in coverage you’ll get on TV as the broadcast bounces between BBC1 and BBC2 mid-match either.

Select matches will also be shown for free in Australia on 9Now. However, it seems the app isn’t showing many games simultaneously, so you’ll inevitably miss out on some big matches. Stan Sport will cover every match, but it’s a paid service requiring Stan and its Sport add-on, which starts at AU$27 per month.

If you want access to every match, we’d stick with the UK’s BBC options, as the VPN costs are cheaper than a new streaming subscription.

If you’re not in the UK, you can enjoy a free Wimbledon live stream, too, if you’re using a VPN to simulate your viewing device being in the UK. Otherwise, you’ll be blocked out at the last second when you hit that play button.

How to watch Wimbledon in the USA
If you don’t already have a bunch of cable channels, the best option to watch Wimbledon for most people in the USA is ESPN+. This streaming service will carry the most simultaneous live matches and will be especially useful during the first week so you can follow your favorite players’ progress. However, the best value for money for ESPN Plus is the triple Disney Plus bundle, which also includes Hulu from $14.99 on a rolling one-month deal.

ESPN Plus (Monthly Plan)
ESPN Plus is designed for sports, giving subscribers access to live MLB, NHL, NFL, soccer, golf, and UFC fights. You can pay $11 monthly or go for an annual deal, which saves you about $22 a year. There’s also a bundle with Hulu and Disney Plus, which offers an even better discount.

On TV -broadcast or online for you cordcutters- various Wimbledon matches will be shown on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, and the Tennis Channels. So, if you already have those channels in your cable package, you will be covered for most of Wimbledon’s big matches, especially those later into the second week.

If you don’t have those channels on cable, Sling Orange does have them and is only $20 for your first month ($40 per month after that) on a one-month rolling contract. Fubo TV is also an option, although the monthly fees start at $79.99. You can start with a one-week free trial, though.

If you have a VPN, you can watch for free if you hop on over to the UK and enjoy their free coverage on the BBC as described above.

Where to watch Wimbledon in the UK
The BBC is the home of all UK TV and online broadcasts for Wimbledon 2024. Select matches will be shown on TV across the BBC and BBC2, but for the most comprehensive coverage, you’ll need to head online with the iPlayer. All 19 courts are available on the free online streaming platform, so whoever you’re following, this is the place to be.
