The NASCAR Cup Series is in Music City this weekend.

You can watch the 2024 Ally 400, which begins at 3:30 p.m. ET Sunday at Nashville Superspeedway, on NBC and live stream it on Sling TV (first-month discount), DirecTV Stream (discount and FREE trial) and fubo TV (FREE trial)

Chevy drivers — Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott and Ross Chastain — have won the three Cup races at the track.

Denny Hamlin won the pole spot on Saturday with a lap of 29.859 seconds in the second round. Josh Berry will start second.

Only eight races remain in this 2024 regular season ahead of the playoffs, so every winless driver will be anxious to improve their playoff chances.

Sixteen drivers make the playoffs, and 10 have scored wins this year – theoretically locking up berths – and leaving just six playoff spots remaining.

Chastain last year ended a winless drought of 14 months when he held off Martin Truex Jr. to win at Nashville in giving Trackhouse Racing its first victory at its home track. Truex finished ahead of Hamlin, both in Toyotas. Elliott was fourth and Hendrick Motorsports teammate Larson was fifth.

A couple of drivers who are expected to do well are Larson, who has never finished outside the top five at Nashville and has a win there, and Christopher Bell, who has finished in the top 10 in five consecutive races, including two wins. Bell has placed in the top 10 in all three Nashville Cup starts, including last Sunday at New Hampshire.

Sunday could be another race day that’s impeded by rain. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast, with highs in the low 90s and heat index values as high as 99. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
