HARRISON TRUSTEES—The Harrison Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at the Minford Volunteer Fire Department, 8484 Ohio 335, Minford.

TRIVIA NIGHT—Join Eridanus Brewing Tea and Taphouse, 501 Ferry St., Russell, at 6 p.m. for Wednesday Night Trivia. Topics include movies, music, sports, and pop culture.

THIRD WEDNESDAY OPEN MIC—Listen to or share your poetry at the Third Wednesday Open Mic at Port City Cafe & Pub, 424 Chillicothe St., Portsmouth. The evening starts at 7 p.m.

THURSDAY, Sept. 19

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS—The Scioto County Commissioners will meet in regular session at 9:30 a.m., on the third floor of the Scioto County Courthouse, 602 Seventh St., Portsmouth. The commissioners meeting is also livestreamed on their Facebook page.

SHAWNEE FARMERS MARKET—Shawnee State University has its very own farmers market on the Morris University Center Lawn. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays through August.

GREENUP FARMERS MARKET—The Greenup County Farmers’ Market will be in downtown Russell. all (606) 836-0201 for more information. This farmers’ market runs 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays through Sept. 26.

AFIB INFO—Learn about Watchman, a safe alternative to blood thinners for the treatmentof non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Electrophysiologist Dr. Basel Edris will discuss atrial fibrillation, stroke risk, medications, and the advantages of Watchman, an implantable device that has been demonstrated to reduce stroke risk by 99 percent without blood thinners. Participants can ask questions and see the Watchman device in person. This event runs from noon to 1:30 p.m., at the SSU Kricker Innovation Hub, 221 Chillicothe St., Portsmouth.

SCDD BOARD—Scioto County Developmental Disabilities will conduct its regular monthly board meeting at 5 p.m. at the Carousel Center, 1112 Gallia St., Portsmouth. An ethics council meeting will take place at 4:45 p.m. in the same location, if needed.

CITY SCHOOL BOARD—The Portsmouth City School Board will meet at 5 p.m., at Portsmouth High School, 1225 Gallia St., Portsmouth.

NEW BOSTON SCHOOL BOARD—The New Boston School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m., at the district office, 1 Glenwood Tiger Trail, New Boston.

NEW BOSTON COUNCIL—New Boston VIllage Council will meet at 6:30 p.m., at the New Boston Community Center on Rhodes Avenue.

GREEN TRUSTEES—The Green Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m., at the senior center in Franklin Furnace.

FREE PLANETARIUM SHOW—A free show will be offered at 7 p.m. at the Clark Planetarium in the Advanced Technology Center on the campus of Shawnee State University. Free shows are offered Mondays and Thursdays. Learn more about the planetarium’s shows at www.shawnee.edu/planetarium.

FRIDAY, Sept. 20

ST. MARY’S INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL—This Portsmouth tradition offers food, fun, and fellowship as well as live entertainment, flea market, and a car, truck, and motorcycle show. The event at Fifth and Market streets begins Friday and runs through the weekend.

FULL MOON FLOAT—Kayak under the harvest moon with Connex. Kayakers meet at 7 p.m. at the Turkey Creek Boat Ramp.

HOMESCHOOLERS DAY AWAY—Bring your kiddos to the Turkey Creek Nature Center at 10:30 a.m. to learn about and explore the forest, stream, and meadow. Wear old clothes and sturdy shoes. Pack a lunch and water.

SATURDAY, Sept. 21

MAIN STREET FARMERS MARKET—The Main Street Portsmouth In Bloom Farmers Market is back! The farmers market opens at 9 a.m. on the Roy Rogers Esplanade in downtown Portsmouth.

GREENUP FARMERS MARKET—The Greenup County Farmers’ Market will begin at 9 a.m. at 35 Wurtland Ave., Greenup. Call (606) 836-0201 for more information. This farmers’ market runds 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 28.

FALL CRAFT MARKET—A one-day pop-up fall craft market will be open for business at the Wheelersburg Kroger, presented by Little Red Hen. This event begins at 9 a.m.

TOSRV—Riders in the Tour of the Scioto River Valley coms to town from their starting point in Columbus. Riders start their trek at 7:30 a.m.

WALK TO END ALZHEIMERS—The Southern Ohio Walk to End Alzheimer’s raising awareness and funds for research into Alzheimer’s Disease, as well as care and support. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Shawnee State University.

KIWANIS KIDS DAY—Portsmouth Kiwanis offers an event with fun activities for the kiddos at Tracy Park at Ninth and Chillicothe streets. The event runs 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
