THURSDAY, Oct. 3

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS—The Scioto County Commissioners will meet in regular session at 9:30 a.m., on the third floor of the Scioto County Courthouse, 602 Seventh St., Portsmouth. The commissioners meeting is also livestreamed on their Facebook page.

NEW BOSTON COUNCIL—New Boston VIllage Council will meet at 6:30 p.m., at the New Boston Community Center on Rhodes Avenue.

GREEN TRUSTEES—The Green Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m., at the senior center in Franklin Furnace.

OLD FASHION DAYS 5K—The 39th Annual Old Fashion Days 5K takes to the streets of Greenup to raise funds for the Old Fashion Days Committee and its efforts to bring more events to the community. Registration is $30 through Tuesday, Oct. 2, and $35 the day of the race, with race shirts guaranteed to all registered and pizza after the race provided by Little Caesar’s. Register at TriStateRacer.com/29thOldFashionDays5K. Race begins at 6 p.m. af the Greenup Library, 508 Main St., Greenup.

FREE PLANETARIUM SHOW—A free show will be offered at 7 p.m. at the Clark Planetarium in the Advanced Technology Center on the campus of Shawnee State University. Free shows are offered Mondays and Thursdays. Learn more about the planetarium’s shows at www.shawnee.edu/planetarium.

FRIDAY, Oct. 4

OKTOBERFEST—The Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce kicks off Oktoberfest at the Scioto County Welcome Center, 342 Second St., Portsmouth. This event features the Schmidt Sausage Hause Food Truck and runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

SATURDAY, Oct. 5

MAIN STREET FARMERS MARKET—The last day of the season for Main Street Portsmouth In Bloom Farmers Market. The farmers market opens at 9 a.m. on the Roy Rogers Esplanade in downtown Portsmouth.

GLOCKTOBERFEST WEEKEND—The Friends of Portsmouth present this weekend extravaganza at Market Square Park in the Boneyfiddle area of Portsmouth. Beer, food, and music! More than 20 breweries will be featured, as well as food trucks and live music. This event runs from noon to 5 p.m.

SUNDAY, Oct. 6

GLOCKTOBERFEST WEEKEND—The Friends of Portsmouth present this weekend extravaganza in the Boneyfiddle part of Portsmouth. Beer, food, and music! More than 20 breweries will be featured, as well as food trucks and live music. This event runs from noon to 5 p.m.

BBQ BRAWL—Check out some of the best food trucks in southern Ohio at the 1st Annual BBQ Brawl. This event will run 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Valley Wholesale Foods, Market Street, Portsmouth. Food prices are set by the vendor.

MONDAY, Oct. 7

PORTER TRUSTEES—The Porter Township trustees will conduct its regular meeting at 4:30 p.m., at the Porter Township Hall, 1535 Dogwood Ridge Road, Wheelersburg.

RARDEN TRUSTEES—The Rarden Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m., 75 Barker St., McDermott.

CLAY TRUSTEES—The Clay Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m., at the senior center at the Clay Industrial Park, 107 N. Arrowhead Road. The trustees have set the regular township meetings for the year to be at 7 p.m., on the third Monday of each month.
