The murder trial of local man Antonio Milar is slated to start at the end of the month after final pretrial Thursday saw no movement in the case.

Milar will stand trial in the Scioto County Common Pleas courtroom of Judge Howard H. Harcha III.

Milar stands accused in the shooting death of a local 17-year-old boy on May 31, 2023. Milar was arrested the next day, hiding out in a burnt-out and abandoned building in the 1600 block of Sixth Street.

According to the Scioto County Clerk’s Office, his list of charges are: one count of aggravated murder; two counts of murder; and two counts of felonious assault.

The three-day trial is slated to start Sept. 30. He is being defended by local attorney Shawn Stratton. The prosecution will be represented by Scioto County Prosecutor Shane Tieman and Assistant Prosecutor Matthew Loesch.

Milar is currently being housed at the Scioto County Jail, where he has been since June 1, 2023.
