WEST PORTSMOUTH — Portsmouth Raceway Park hosted the annual Lemley Motorsports Mod Squad Spectacular on Saturday night.

Parkersburg’s (W. Va.) KC Burdette claimed the win, leading from flag to flag en route to his third PRP victory of the season.

Miles Cook II took the checkers in the Limited Lates.

Davey Akers won the Sport Mod A-Main, and Quade Schoonover prevailed in the Legends Cars.

The Gampp’s Outdoor Power Equipment Modifieds took center stage as the annual Mod Squad paid $3,000 to the winner.

Burdette was dominant throughout the evening setting fast time, winning his heat, and leading every lap of the 25-lap A-main.

Former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular Austin Wayne Self from Statesville, NC rolled into PRP, and fought his way from seventh to second in The Mod Squad Spectacular.

“The Buckeye Bullet” Bradon Berry from West Portsmouth placed third.

Wheelersburg’s Cook II finished fourth, and Stout’s Derek Richmond was fifth.

Rounding out the top 10 were Brandon Smith, Zach Carr, Danny Ferguson, Brian Whiteman and Jody Puckett.

Brian Skaggs was the second-fastest qualifier and won his heat, but got caught up in an accident early on in the feature ending his night.

Wheelersburg’s Cook II had a busy evening, as the 19-year-old and recent high school graduate competed in both the Modified and Limited Late Model divisions.

He followed up a solid top-5 finish in the Modified A-Main with his first-ever Limited Late Model Feature victory at PRP.

Cook started third and got past Albert Butcher with three laps remaining — on his way to claiming the checkers in the O-Reilly Auto Parts Limited Late Model A-main presented by WB Metals.

Rounding out the top 10 were Jacob Curnutte, Mike Meyers, Evyian Terry, Kevin Terry, Dakota Pennington, Matt Yates, Mike Steele and Robert Hoffstadt.

Waverly’s Davey Akers won The Stealth Chassis Sport Mod A-main, and led every lap from start to finish.

Jamey Adams, John Brady Jr, Luke Jordan, Cody Price, Adam Jordan, Tucker Adams, Rob Lemaster, Danny Hamilton Jr, and Brandon Colley completed the top 10.

Eighteen-year-old Quade Schoonover of Peebles charged up through the field from a 13th-place start to win The Ohio Valley Roofers Legends Car Series Race.

The remainder of the top 10 consisted of Levi Morris, Zach Schuler, Cale Maybin, Doug Fawley, Ryan Swisshelm, William Wetzl, Shane McKinley, Rob Schuler and Greg Arthur.
