Mullins named 2024 Fair Queen

Addison Mullins, a senior at Wheelersburg High School, has been named as the 2024 Scioto County Junior Fair Queen.

Mullins is the daughter of Daniel and Heather Mullins and is a member of the Minford Bees 4-H Club.

Her 4-H projects have included breeding rabbits, cake decorating, clothing, food and nutrition, and still projects.

Mullins has competed at the Ohio State Fair with several of her projects, and has won clock trophies for both self-determined and cake decorating projects.

She is a 4-H camp counselor and is a member of the Scioto County Jr. Fair Board.

4-H has also provided Mullins with opportunities to travel to Washington D.C., Kelley’s Island and Atlanta, where she participated in the 2023 National 4-H Congress as the Ohio 4-H Creative Arts Achievement Award Winner.

In addition to 4-H, Mullins is active in many school and community programs including soccer, mock trial, quiz bowl, school musicals, National Honor Society and competitive dance at Yvonne DeKay School of Dance.

Mickayla Frazier, a junior at Wheelersburg High School, was named as the 2024 First Runner-Up.

Frazier is the daughter of Mick and Brandi Frazier and is a member of the Green Clovers 4-H club.

She shows lambs and dairy cows and is a member of the Jr. Fair Board.

The 2024 princesses are Aleigha Spradlin, Aiden Sizemore and Megan Hickman.

Spradlin is a 2023 graduate of Clay High School, sophomore at Shawnee State University, and an alum of the Down to Our Boots 4-H club.

She is the daughter of Amy and Michael Spradlin.

Sizemore is a senior at South Webster High School and a member of the Wiggles and Wags 4-H Club.

She shows market turkeys and dogs, is a camp counselor, and is a member of the Jr. Fair Board.

She is the daughter of Terri Sizemore and Larry Schackart.

Hickman is a 2023 graduate of Minford High School and is a member of the Dreams of Tomorrow 4-H Club.

She shows market chickens and breeding rabbits and is the daughter of Christina and Gary Hickman.

This year’s contest and crowning ceremony was held on June 13.

In the weeks since the crowning, the queen and court have been busy traveling to other county fairs and attending multiple pre-fair 4-H events.

With the 2024 Scioto County Fair now less than two weeks away, they are continuing to visit other county fairs while preparing for their own fair.

They will attend 4-H shows and other events throughout fair week.

Mullins says she is “excited, honored, and proud to be the 2024 Scioto County Jr. Fair Queen and is looking forward to an amazing week at the fair.”
