SATURDAY, May 18

HIKE FOR HOSPICE—Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., in the parking lot of the SOMC Hospice Center, 2201 25th St., Portsmouth. The walk begins at 9:30 a.m. T-shirts can be purchased at somc.org/hikeforhospice. Donations support the mission of SOMC Hospice.

MAIN STREET FARMERS MARKET—The Main Street Portsmouth In Bloom Farmers Market is back! Check out the 2024 opening of this Roy Rogers Esplanade tradition. The farmers market opens at 9 a.m. in downtown Portsmouth, with live performances starting at 11 a.m. The farmers market is every Saturday through Oct. 5.

NEXT CHAPTER—Come support the next chapter of the Pike County library system at a Chinese and silent auction fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Bristol Village, 660 E. Fifth St., Waverly. Items being auctioned include gift certificates, zoo tickets, Tecumseh! outdoor drama tickets, designer items and more. A bake sale and local vendors will also be onsite. Drawings start at 2 p.m. Proceeds will go to the Garnet Wilson Public Library.

SPAGHETTI DINNER AND SILENT AUCTION—This fundraiser runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wurtland Elementary School and is aimed at raising money for teacher Tim Hunt’s eye surgery. Hunt, of West Portsmouth, is legally blind and works as a preschool teacher at Wurtland Elementary, 611 East St., Wurtland, Ky.

GREENUP FARMERS MARKET—The Greenup County Farmers Market returns for the season at the Greenup County Extension, 35 Wurtland Ave. this Saturday. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

MONDAY, May 20

PORTER TRUSTEES—The Porter Township trustees will conduct its regular meeting at 4:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 15, at the Porter Township Hall, 1535 Dogwood Ridge Road, Wheelersburg.

RUSH TRUSTEES—The Rush Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m., 75 Barker St., McDermott.

TUESDAY, May 21

ADAMHS BOARD—The Adams, Lawrence, Scioto Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services board will have the following meetings: The finance committee meeting will be conducted at 5:30 p.m., and the board of directors meeting will be at 6 p.m. Both meetings will be at 919 Seventh St., Portsmouth.

MORGAN TRUSTEES—The Morgan Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m., at the senior citizen building.

MADISON TRUSTEES—The Madison Township trustees will meet at 7 p.m. at the trustee building on White Gravel Road near Ohio 335.

WESTERN SUN SCHOLARSHIP NIGHT—The Western Sun Masonic Lodge No. 91 is handing out Scholarships to several local students and to Masonic brothers for their dedication to the craft and the lodge a whole. This event will be held during our stated meeting night. The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. at the lodge, 11800 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg.

THURSDAY, May 23

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS—The Scioto County Commissioners will meet in regular session at 9:30 a.m., on the third floor of the Scioto County Courthouse, 602 Seventh St., Portsmouth. The commissioners meeting is also livestreamed on their Facebook page.

PORTSMOUTH CITY SCHOOLS—Regular monthly board meeting of the Portsmouth City School Board at 5 p.m., at Portsmouth High School, 1225 Gallia St., Portsmouth.

CLAY SCHOOL BOARD—Regular monthly board meeting of the Clay Local School Board at 7 p.m., at Clay High School, 44 Clay High St., Portsmouth.

SCIOTO COUNTY DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES—The board of Scioto County Developmental Disabilities will conduct a special meeting at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 23, at the Carousel Center, 1112 Gallia St., Portsmouth. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct regular business. An Ethics Council meeting will take place at 4:45 p.m. in the same location, if needed.
