Born June 18, 1955, in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was the son of the late Avanell (Carter) and Bill Linkous. Billy worked many years as a custodian for the Wheelersburg School System and was a member of the Victorious Christian Life Center in Wheelersburg.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Gail (Floyd) Linkous; mother and father-in-law, Beulah and Dale Carter of Greenup, Ky.; his special “grandchildren,” Austin Morrison, Abby and Caleb Malone, Cody McCormick and Brady Tackett. Billy is also survived by many friends and family who loved him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Zona Gail Linkous; grandparents, Zona and Brian Carter, Myrt and Blanche Linkous.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastor Vicki Bays and Bobby Linkous officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and one hour before the service on Tuesday.
