Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini announced Monday that detectives from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office have arrested James Conley, 37, of Clarktown, in connection with a burglary that occurred on Burns Road on Thursday.

According to Donini, Scioto County Sheriff’s Office 911 call center received a call at 6:55 p.m. Thursday from a resident on Burns Road advising that somebody had broken into his house and stolen several items — including electronics and other household items.

Deputies responded to the location and a report was filed and forwarded to detectives. During this investigation, detectives were able to identify Conley as their suspect, which led to his arrest and the recovery of the stolen property.

Conley has been charged with one count of second-degree felony burglary and probation violation. He was being held with no bond Monday, waiting to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court.

Donini stated that this arrest was a joint effort between his office and Common Pleas Court Adult Probation Officers, and he said more charges could be presented to the Scioto County Grand Jury at a later date.

Donini advised this case is still under investigation and he is asking anyone with information about the case to please contact Detective Jodi Conkel at the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, at (740) 351-1091.
