“We have hauled out 100,000 tons of salt,” R.J. Conley of Conley Trucking and Conley Terminals said. “We do most of it with our trucks, and I hire a lot of trucks to help me.”
Conley’s sells salt to many government entities in this section of the country.
“Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio — we service the northern part of Virginia, the western part of West Virginia, and Columbus and below in Ohio,” Conley said.
The supply didn’t stay low for long. Monday, Conley’s was in the process of replenishing the mountains of salt.
“I’ve got more right now,” Conley said. “We’re unloading barges right now at our terminal.”
Conley said the current supply of salt was coming from Louisiana; and has received salt this year from as far away as Brazil.
According to its Web site, Conley Trucking specializes in all types of aggregate materials handling including stone/gravel, dirt and coal.
