Eleven candidates who are running in the Nov. 3 election have been asked to attend.
Rosalie Phillips of the LWV said candidates will be allowed three minutes to respond to the questions asked by a moderator. After that, the audience may ask questions.
Phillips said candidates for the Portsmouth City School Board, mayor and Portsmouth City Council have been asked to attend.
In a news release, the LWV said areas for concern are the purchase of the former Scioto County Juvenile Detention Center for use by the Portsmouth Police Department, a city income tax increase, Issue 2 and Issue 3.
Phillips said the LWV is open to any person 18 years of age or older, male or female, who subscribes to the purpose and policy of the League.
Phillips said the purpose of women voters is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation in government.
