OSHP seeking deadly hit-skip driver
PDT Staff Writer
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man troopers say killed two adults and an unborn child in a hit-skip crash Tuesday evening. Authorities are seeking help from the public in locating Paul R. Riggs, Jr., 30, of Waverly who is wanted on three counts of aggravated homicide and one count of aggravated vehicular assault.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the fatal traffic crash occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. They say that crash claimed the life of Tina L. Ogier, 35, her unborn child, and a passenger, Mary Jane E. Cooper, 19, all of Beaver, Ohio. A 14-year-old passenger was also injured in the crash.
Troopers said Ogier was traveling westbound on River Road in a 1998 Plymouth Breeze when a 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, traveling eastbound on the same road, went left of center and struck her vehicle head on. Ogier and Cooper were pronounced dead at the scene.
The OSHP says Riggs was last seen wearing black shorts and no shirt.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Riggs is urged to call the Portsmouth Dispatch Center at 740-354-2888.
