Wheelersburg woman arrested on drug charges

WHEELERSBURG — Oxycodone pills with a street value of over $4,800, and other drugs were confiscated and a Wheelersburg woman arrested in the execution of a search warrant Wednesday. Amber Hatfield, 26, is charged with trafficking in drugs, a first degree felony and possession of drugs, a felony of the second degree.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, which consists of narcotics detectives from the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, the Portsmouth Police Department, and agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, arrested Hatfield after the Task Force executed a narcotics-related search warrant at Hatfield’s residence, located at 1129 Boren Blvd Apt. E in Wheelersburg.
Upon a search of the residence, detectives seized more than 120 suspected Oxycodone pills, 22 suspected Xanax pills, cash and a small amount of Marijuana. Also present at the time of the execution of the warrant were Hatfield’s two small children.
The estimated street value of the suspected Oxycodone pills seized was more than $4,800.
Hatfield was placed in the Scioto County Jail and was arraigned on Wednesday at 9 a.m. and is being held $125,000 bond.
The case against Hatfield will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury for the consideration of additional drug-related criminal charges.
