The Ohio State Highway Patrol is now investigating its third fatality crash in Lawrence County this year after a man died in a Tuesday morning motorcycle crash.

According to the Ironton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 1988 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by David A. Holschuh, age 47, of Ironton, was traveling west on County Road 21 in Lawrence County at about 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday. The operator reportedly lost control in a curve and was ejected from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Phillips Funeral Home.

The road was closed for about four hours following the crash, which is still under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol report this is the third rural fatality crash investigated in Lawrence County this year. Additionally, this is the second fatal motorcycle crash in the region this week. Martha Holster, 64, of Sanford, N.C., died of her injuries Monday after her motorcycle was struck by a car on Ohio 73 Sunday afternoon.
