Officials with the River Days Festival have released this years lineup of entertainment, which includes a plethora of performers.
When asked what people can expect from this years festival, Chairman Trent Williams said, “We expect this to (be) another great year of entertainment on-stage with an exciting lineup of very talented groups. They are all very crowd friendly and put on a great show. We’re also planning several new events this for this year to get more people actively involved with River Days, like a Boat Parade, Canoe Races and Kiddie Tractor Pulls to name a few. Our goal is to get the festival back to a more family oriented activity and we welcome suggestions and comments from the public.”
Evening entertainment for the festival kicks off on Aug. 29 with the group Phil Dirt and The Dozers.
According to www.phildirt.com, “Phil Dirt and the Dozers, America’s premiere “Rock ‘N R’oldies” review will help you recapture those wonderful days! With their musical talent, high energy and contagious sense of humor, Phil Dirt and The Dozers will transport you to another time and place, namely, the ’50s, ‘60’s, and ’70s of Rock and Roll.”
Friday, Aug. 30 will feature the group The Kentucky Headhunters. According to information found on, kentuckyheadhunters.net, “the Kentucky Headhunters are an American country rock band. The band has released seven studio albums, two compilations, and twenty singles, of which the highest-peaking is a cover of the Don Gibson song, ‘Oh Lonesome Me,’ which the band took to No. 8 in 1990.”
Saturday, Aug. 31 will feature the group Restless Heart. Sunday, Sept. 1 will feature the group Cook and Belle along with the annual Fireworks show.
