Phyllis Sue Walters-Baldwin, 76


Phyllis Sue Walters-Baldwin, 76, of Covington, Ky. and formerly of Ezel, Ky., passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, in the Hospice Care Center of St.Elizabeth, Edgewood, Ky. after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Clearfield, Rowan County, Ky. to the late James ‘Dockie’ Madison Walters and Vesta Opal Quesinberry Walters.


She was a member of the Index Community Church, Index, Ky. and a retired guard from the E.K.C.C.,West Liberty, Ky. In addition to her parents, one daughter, Debra Jean McElhaney and her husband’s Wendell Eugene McElhaney and Oddis Harold ‘Skip’ Baldwin preceded her in death.


Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Gail and Joe Miles of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Diane Jean Howard and Larry Grizzle of Ironton, Ohio; one son, Eric Wendell and Felicia McElhaney of Burlington, Ky.; two step-sons; Stuart Baldwin of Wheelersburg, Ohio and Scott Baldwin of Salem, Ky.; two step-daughters, Kim Brown and Sheri Bailey of Wheelersburg, Ohio; two sisters: Carol Louise King of Mansfield, Ohio and Beverly Lynn and Jim Lillo of Mansfield, Ohio; four brothers; Donnie R.Walters of Mansfield, Ohio, Darrell E. & Imogene Walters of Pinehurst, Texas. Rev. James Ray and Bonnie Walters of Jackson, Ga. Douglas and Phyllis Walters of Louisville, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.


Funeral service 1 p.m. Friday, May 24,2013, at Index Community Church, Index, Ky. with Rev. Mike Frisby officiating. Burial in the Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, Ky. Visitation 6:30 p.m.,Thursday Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home, West Liberty, Ky.
