A Wheelersburg man is being held in the Scioto County Jail without bond pending an appearance in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Friday. Chadwick Gary, 38, has been charged with one count of burglary — a felony of the second degree — one count of felony theft from a vehicle — a fifth degree felony — and a probation violation.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said his office has been working on a burglary that occurred on May 13, at 1142 Kinker Drive in Wheelersburg.
Deputies responded to that location which resulted in a report being filed which was forwarded to detectives for an investigation. During the investigation detectives were able to obtain video footage with the assistance of the Portsmouth Metropolitan Housing Authority security which resulted in a possible suspect.
Donini said the Porter Township Community Policing deputy observed the possible suspect on May 16, while on patrol and was able to detain him for detectives for an interview which resulted in the suspect being arrested.
Donini also said several vehicles had been broken into around the Wheelersburg area and during the investigation, detectives were able to determine that that suspect also broke into several vehicles in this area and Kentucky.
