Softball Sectional Championship

Chillicothe

No. 4 Zane Trace 3, No.5 West 1

McKenzie Whittaker and Allie Hoggard were lone bright spots for West as they fall to Zane Trace 3-1. Whittaker went 1-for-3 with a double and run scored. Hoggard finished the game going 1-for-2 with the only run batted in for the Senators.


West loses for starters to graduation: Hoggard, Abby Welch, Kayla Webb and Tara Journey.

Track Results

The annual Scioto County Track Championship was held Minford with the host team winning in both boys and girls.

Minford boys won with 117.5 points overall. Wheelersburg finished second in the competition with 109.5 points.

The high medalist for individual boys was Drew Dutiel from South Webster Junior High School with 28 points overall. Dutiel finished first in the 100 meter dash, first in the 200 meter dash and second in the 400 meter dash.

The Minford girls also won with 144.5 points overall. Just like the boys, the Wheelersburg girls finished second with 133 points.

The high medalist for the girls was Ellie Ruby of Wheelersburg with a perfect 30 points overall. Ruby finished first in the 100 meter hurdles, first in the 200 meter hurdles and first in the long jump. Ruby established three new meet records in all first place finishes.

SOC I and II Track Meets

At Oak Hill

SOC I winners were Valley Boys and Valley Girls.

SOC I athletes of the year were Matt Hodge of Valley in the boys meet and McKenzie Coriell of Valley on the girls side.

SOC II winners were Minford Boys and Waverly Girls.


SOC II athletes of the year were Sean Berry of Minford in the boys meet and Kelsey Hoskins of Oak Hill on the girls side.
