Charges have been filed against two people after a Scioto County Sheriff’s deputy responded to an apartment where several people had reported a methamphetamine lab was being prepared.

On Friday, a deputy talked to an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper and advised him of the reports. The deputy then called a captain at the Sheriff’s Office and asked if it would be OK to knock on the door of the apartment and ask to search the premises. The deputy was given permission, so, along with the trooper and another deputy, he knocked on the door at 5246 Apartment 2, Swauger Valley Rd., and the door was answered by Timothy William Gammon, 39, of 1321 Wheelers Mill Rd., Wheelersburg, who told them Daisey Janell Hall, 33, of that address, was in the back.

Deputies said they spotted what appeared to be a broken homemade glass pipe that had a yellowish residue on it. They also reported noticing a strange odor.

The trooper read the two their Miranda Rights and Hall advised deputies they had been smoking crack and told them where the crack was. It was located in a bedroom closet. The crack, a glass pipe and multiple pills were confiscated. The crack field tested positive for cocaine and the pills were identified as Diazapam.

Charges of possession of drugs - schedule III, IV, or V, possession of drugs - cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia, were filed in the case. The two were not arrested.
