Traffic stop nets 222 grams of cocaine

LUCASVILLE —A routine traffic stop turned into a drug arrest Friday, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

State Troopers from the Portsmouth Patrol Post stopped a 2000 Grand Marquis Friday for a marked lanes violation on U.S. 23 near Milepost 8.

According to OSHP, due to criminal indicators that were present, a search was performed for probable cause.

In rear of the vehicle, Troopers encountered Brandy T. Staten, 33, of Columbus who surrendered 222 grams of cocaine from her person.

According to OSHP, Staten was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Trafficking cocaine, both felonies.

Also charged were Alexis A. Ward, 37, of Milton, W.Va. and Shawn D.A. Lamarr, 36, of Columbus. All three persons were incarcerated at the Scioto County Jail.
