Conley Lumpkins, 78


Conley Lumpkins, 78 of South Shore, Ky. died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his residence. He was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Jenkins, Ky., a son of the late Roy Lumpkins and Rhoda Mullins Lumpkins.


He was the owner of Andy’s Glass in Portsmouth, Ohio, and was the minister of Globe Church of Christ in South Shore for over 50 years.


He is survived by his wife of 60 years, W. Jean Greenslate Lumpkins: two sons, Rick Lumpkins and David Lumpkins both of South Shore; two brothers, Verlin Lumpkins of Knoxville, Tenn. and Larry Lumpkins of Vanceburg, Ky.; three sisters, Ruth Brandenburg of California, Dorothy Bryant of Richmond, Ky. and Shirley Gilispie of South Shore.; two grandchildren Brandon Lumpkins and Haley Runyon and a great-grandson Xavior Runyon.


He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Lumpkins, a brother Bobby Lumpkins and two sisters, Clotine Wente and Pauline Lumpkins


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore with Bernie Parsons and Keith Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9 pm. at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers donations are requested to the Globe Church of Christ East Tygart Road South Shore, Ky. 41175.
