Stephannie Copas-Lacey, 54


Stephannie A. Copas-Lacey, age 54 of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Grandview Hospital. She is preceded in death by her mother, Etta L. (Rigsby) Copas; aunts, Erlistine Walker, Pauline Rigsby, Phyllis Schaffer, Laura Whitback; and uncle, Robert Walker.


She is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, James C. Lacey; daughters, Twylla M. Lacey and Jessica N. Lacey; son-in-law, Ricky Hawthorne; three grandsons, Matthew, Brysan, and Trevor; father, Robert L. Copas; brother, Bryan (Sandy) Copas; sister, Bonnie Walters; uncle, Butch (Elaine) Rigsby; nieces, Christa (Mike) and Shelby (Andrew); nephews, Justin, Michael, Scooter, Brandon, Landon, Corey, Jason, John, and Jerry Jr.; two great-nephews, Caleb and Liam; numerous cousins and friends.


Stephannie dedicated 20 years of her life as an LPN helping others. She went above and beyond helping family and friends. Stephannie loved her dogs like children: Jiggs, Chancey, FiFi, BoBo, Sindy, Cloe, Missy Boo, Loveus, Monty, Daisy, Kizzy, Lacey, Meeka, Neleh, Lady, Snuggles, Cuddles, and Hannah the Parrot. She was a member of the Eagles Post 4961, Fairborn.


A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home- North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Interment will immediately follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 4 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that balloons be sent in Stephannie’s memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.newcomerdayton.com.
