On Thursday the Scioto County Commissioners signed a letter of support for Wabuck Development Company’s application to the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.

According to Mike Crabtree, Chairman of the Scioto County Commissioners, Wabuck Development is proposing to build a housing development for low income families in Rush Township.

“They want to build some low income housing in Porter as well as Rush Township. They have not been able to reach some kind of agreement with the Porter Township Trustees, so they are not going to peruse that at this time. They do not have enough time between now and the deadline for filing with the Ohio Housing Finance Agency,” Crabtree said. “They were able to come up with an agreement with the trustees in Rush Township. We signed the letter supporting their application to construct the houses in Rush Township.”

He said the location they are looking to build the housing development is near the Rush and Washington Township border. Crabtree said it’s in the area where the former sunset drive-in used to be.

Crabtree said the project is being called Carson Hills and calls for the construction of about 42 units or houses.

According to wabuckdevelopment.com, the company’s mission is, “the development of quality, safe, decent, affordable housing and social models which will enhance the standard of living for those in need.”

To date the organization has developed 3,500 housing units in the states of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee. For more information about Wabuck Development visit, wabuckdevelopment.com.

In order for this to be in Rush township, is this near Tremper Mound? If so, I hope the trustees ensure that the pre-historical mound is not disturbed. I have noticed recently that the sign marking the site is no longer there & the old house, of course, was torn down a few years ago.

BP,

You must be PepperCorn or another wing nut by another name blowing off like you have a place at the table in this cyberspace behind your keyboard and on you porch or perch just spectating. '

Tremper Mound is approx. 1/2 mile North of this proposed development so it will not be disturbed. This concern was discussed with at least one Rush Township Trustee and it was confirmed the development would not disturb nor impact the mound in any way. Is that mound on a registry of any kind, you would not know you are just a negative blowhard who like peeperKorn, et al would ignorantly label real issues raised as negativity.

You either are or are like one of Steve Hayes'

C-A-V-E people who've been silenced lately, perhaps dying away?

Did you even think of calling somewhere and inquiring to your concerns before now like the disappearing sign and the like, no you just like to complain, bitch and moan and groan, etc.

Go to your friends and neighbors and complain, hah.
