Raymond Pinson, 75

Raymond E. Pinson, 75, of Tick Ridge Road, Wheelersburg, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at his residence. Born Aug.13, 1937, in Harrison Township, Scioto County, a son of the late Ernest and Hester (Pratt) Pinson, he was a towerman – operator for Conrail Railroad in Columbus, retiring in 1988. He attended Tick Ridge Free Will Baptist Church, was an Army veteran and a member of James Dickey Post No. 23 American Legion in Portsmouth.

He is survived by his wife, Curleen (Conkel) Pinson, whom he married on July 8, 1989; a son, Steve Pinson of Cincinnati; two grandchildren, Zackary Pinson of San Diego, California and Allison Pinson of Fairfield; a sister, Nora Fenton of Las Vega, Nevada, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Orville Pinson, Lester Pinson, Jay Dee Pinson, Ernest Pinson, Jr., and two sisters, Dorothy Steiger and Charlotte Lemon. The family would like to give special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their care.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Tick Ridge Free Will Baptist Church with Rick Arthur and Bernard Twinam officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Dickey Post No. 23 American Legion. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.
