Wilma Canter, 87

Wilma Jean Tieman Canter, 87, of Portsmouth, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at her residence. She was born May 14, 1925, in Portsmouth to the late William G. Tieman and Rosella Shively Tieman. She was a member of Valley United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bennett Canter, on Feb. 3, 1993; a grandson, David Lee Blevins, II; a great-grandson, Ian Jacob Blevins; and four sisters, Lillian Hobstetter, Freda Apel, Nell Freeland and Ida Myers.

Wilma is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Charlesa) Canter of Chillicothe, Ohio; two daughters, Cathy (Ralph) Russell of Broomfield, Colo., and Kay Canter of Minford, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Erin Canter, Adam Russell, Christopher Russell, Krista Glover, Kari Blevins, Kellie Cooke and Kim Dalton; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Tieman of Portsmouth, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. Friday at Daehlers.
