Host East redeemed itself from a 39-point loss to Symmes Valley to start the season with a 46-42 SOC I win Monday over the Vikings.


Mercedes Tackett led all scorers with 19 points and Jessie Monroe added 15 in the win. Kalli Hunt finished with nine for Symmes Valley, which hosts Clay Thursday.

Neither team connected on a 3-pointer in the game. The Tartans welcome SOC I-leading Notre Dame Thursday.

Clay erased a 13-point third quarter deficit to post a 47-41 win over Western Monday night in the season debut of Panthers guard Shannon Curley.

Emily Widdowson led Clay with 13 points, Lexie Gilliland finished with 11 and Curley added 10. Brittany Reader had 14 to lead all scorers with 14 and Chrissy Woods chipped in with 10 in the loss.

The Panthers go to Symmes Valley Thursday. The Indians welcome Green.

Host Green captured its first SOC I win of the season with a 48-33 win over New Boston thanks to a double-double from Madison Applegate.

The sophomore finished with a game-high 15 points, 14 rebounds and five steals. Giulia Elli had 14 and Bobbie Applegate ended with 10.

Emily Waugh’s 12 and Kiersten McGraw’s 10 paced the Tigers. Green travels Thursday to Western and New Boston goes to Eastern.

Notre Dame 61, Eastern 45

A stranglehold on the SOC I is the best way to describe Notre Dame’s lead in the division after the host Titans dismissed second place Eastern 61-45 Monday Night for a two-game lead in the loss column and a season sweep.

Jen Arnzen recorded another double-double on the night, finishing with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Sammie Marting had 10 points and six assists while Libby Welsh chipped in with seven points and nine assists in the win.

Chandler Brown’s 17 points led the Eagles. Notre Dame goes to East Thursday night and Eastern welcomes New Boston.

A 20-point, nine-rebound outing by Darbie Jenkins helped host Northwest defeat South Webster 60-53.

Ashley Riley finished with 12 points and nine rebounds while K’Lee McGlurg had eight points and 11 rebounds in the win. Mariah Sullivan led the Jeeps with 14 and Kacie Hall added 11.

The Mohawks are on the road Thursday to face Valley. South Webster welcomes Oak Hill.

McKenzie Coriell’s game-high 19 points and Bethany Conley’s double-double helped host Valley grab a 63-53 home SOC II win over Minford.

Conley finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Lexie Doddridge contributed with six points and seven assists. Kylie Berry led the Falcons with 18.

The Indians entertain Northwest in Thursday’s SOC II tussle. Minford hosts Portsmouth Wednesday night before welcoming Waverly for Thursday’s league action.

Fay Proehl led the Pirate charge with 11 points. Sydney Holden had eight points and Brooklyn Adams had eight points and 11 rebounds. Bri Wiget had seven points to lead the Tigers.

Wheelersburg goes to West Thursday. Waverly is at Minford the same night.
