Grace and peace to all. We are on the thresh hold of a new year, of which, if God will give us grace, we will see the new year come in.
My friend, may I ask, what was 2012 like for you? Because we live in this thing called life, I am sure that you could share some bad experiences, some hurtful or painful things which transpired in your life during the course of the year. Consequently, I have no doubt that you encountered some good things, some wonderful experiences, and precious moments which brought great joy and excitement. Whichever the case may be, just know that everything happens for a reason and that nothing is by happenstance, whether it is good or bad.
Those good times, when everything is going our way, I like to call “mountain top” experiences, when the winds of life blow in our favor and we soar. During those times, we feel unstoppable, unbeatable, we are at the top of our game. Then there are those bad times, what I call the “valley” experiences, where nothing seems to be working out, and the jaws of life seem to be devouring our progress, our confidence and even our hope.
Which would you rather have? I suspect that most people would say the mountain top experiences, but you know what, the growth, the strength, and maturity comes when we are down in the valley. Think about it my friend, trials, which come in a myriad of forms, such as the loss of a loved one, a job, a friendship or material possessions challenge the human spirit and provoke us to introspection.
Difficulty causes us to take a look inside of ourselves, an introspective look to see what is really going on. Our true character is revealed during trials and tribulations. Everyone, as well as ourselves, get to see who we really during those times. If by chance, what is revealed to us is not amicable, then we can choose to correct those characteristics about ourselves, which, voila, produces growth.
My friend, it is my sincere hope that your 2013 experiences will help to mold and shape you into the woman, man, teenager, or child that God has intended you to be. My prayer for you is that you will use whatever God allows to come into your life in 2013 as a stepping stone to greatness! The good will make you great, but the bad will make you greater, because of the person that you became when you persevered through the bad times.
Arise, go forth with an abundance of faith, and trust in God, because he cannot fail. Therefore, since God cannot fail, if you allow him to work in and through you, success and productivity is unavoidable. Happy New Year!
