Dale Jones, 61
Dale Quentin Jones, 61, of New Boston, a former Portsmouth resident, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice Center. He was born June 30, 1951, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Gaylord and Thelma Kathleen Malone Jones.
Dale was a carpenter and the owner of Jonesey’s Home Improvement, and he was a member of Calvary Chapel and the NRA.
Dale is survived by his wife, Billie Lea Pratt Jones, whom he married Oct. 17, 1997, in Greenup, Ky.; three sons, Dale Q. Jones, Jr., Casey Jones, and Richard “Richie” (Betsy) Chapman all of Portsmouth; two daughters, Angie Egerton of New Boston, and Cathy Jo Jones of Portsmouth; two brothers, Kurt (Diane) Jones of Lucasville, and Robert (Susan) Jones of Portsmouth; four sisters, Betty Lou Snyder, Kathy (Tom Spanckey) Campbell, and Julia (Dale) Phillips, all of Portsmouth, and Mary Ellen (Leroy) Laut of Lucasville; and 10 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, John Jones.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with Pastor Joe Bruch officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
