A Portsmouth man is facing felony drug charges when crack cocaine was discovered during a traffic stop Thursday in Scioto County.


State Troopers topped a 2006 Ford Mustang on 13th Street in Portsmouth at approximately 3:05 a.m. for a moving violation. The driver of the vehicle, Lennon L. Brown, 29, was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence.


During the search of the driver, a baggie containing 24 individual baggies of crack cocaine was discovered inside of Brown’s pocket. Troopers seized what is approximated $2,710 in cash. The contraband has a combined street value of approximately $2,600.


The driver, Lennon L. Brown, 29, was charged with Possession of Cocaine and Trafficking Cocaine, which are first degree felonies. Mr. Brown was incarcerated in the Scioto County jail.
