Employees and their families from the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted their annual “Shop With Teddy Trooper” at Walmart in New Boston Thursday evening.

Post Commander Lt. Karla Taulbee said this year the post was able to assist 40 children from the local community with clothes and toys for Christmas. She said employees raised money throughout the year by holding fundraisers and receiving donations from local businesses and individuals.

Taulbee thanked the Valley High School varsity girls basketball team and Mark Merritt; Gahm’s Auto & Truck Parts; Donnie Martin Heating and Air; Southern Ohio Gundog Association; the Ohio Trooper Coalition; Conley Trucking; the Minford Volunteer Fire Department; Minford Squad 3; Paramount Beauty Academ; Scioto Smiles and Dr. Teresa Martin-Boggs; Central Loan Company; Reflections Beauty Salon, Terri and Linda; Connie Martin; The Lofts; Scioto Block and the Coriell’s and Ann Fankell with the SOMC Cancer Center.

Taulbee said Teddy Trooper was at the store to greet the children when they arrived for their shopping sprees. She also took the time to thank all the patrons who attended the post’s annual fund raiser yard sale.
