Editor’s Note: Friday’s Northwest-South Webster boys contest was accidentially omitted from Saturday’s print edition of the Daily Times. It will appear in Sunday’s edition as well as below:


Seth Goddard and Levi Cook each had 18 points as host South Webster won its SOC II opener with a 65-40 victory over Northwest.


The Jeeps were just 1-of-4 from the line in the contest but used multiple layups to pull away early. Lance Swords added 12 in the win.


Drew Scarberry and Marcus Potter each had nine in the loss. South Webster goes next Friday to Oak Hill and the Mohawks are back on the road Tuesday to Peebles.

Green 60, New Boston 53

A 10-0 run to start Friday’s contest and a late surge helped Green advance with a 60-53 win over host New Boston in an SOC I game despite a 31-point outing from Shane Buckley.

Trent Marcum led the Bobcats with 26 points and 11 rebounds while Tyler Crace and Clay Applegate each had 14. Green travels Tuesday to Wheelersburg.
