John Weber, 73
John G. Weber, 73, of Sciotoville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Best Care Nursing Home in Wheelersburg. He was born Dec. 27, 1938, in Coles Park, West Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of the late Paul W. and Helen Mary E. Hilbert Weber.
John was a union roofer, and had been employed with Taylor Lumber Company. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death Aug. 18, 1998, by his wife, Stella May Holt Weber, whom he married 1971 in South Shore, Ky.
Surviving are two daughters, Jacquelyn (Kyle Bruce) Weber-Johnson of Winchester, Ky. and Helen (Michael) Arnett of Minford; two sisters, Mary Agnes Arnett of West Portsmouth, and Ruth Ann Smith of Sciotoville; six grandsons, Kyle Gregory Johnson, Johnathan Arnett, Michael Arnett, Joshua “J.J.” Johnson, Nate Arnett and Jacob Arnett; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Ann Weber; and five brothers, Paul, David, Bernard, Joseph and Francis Weber.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the RALPH F. SCOTT FUNERAL HOME in Portsmouth with Rev. Peter Michael officiating and interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
