Charles Carter, Sr., 78

Charles Wesley “Jack” Carter, Sr., 78, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Scioto County to the late Earl Carter and Treasa Stamper Carter.

He was preceded in death by his wife of many years, Mary Carter; two sisters, Eileen Adkins and Emma Wamsley; three brothers, Samuel, Merle and Earl Carter; two daughters, Pammie Carter and Georgetta Davis; and one son, Mark Carter.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda McGraw Carter; five daughters, Connie Sparks and Jeannette Stewert, both of Mansfield, Ohio, Linda Conley of Wisconsin, Wanda Endekle of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Tammie Queen of Portsmouth; four sons, Charles Carter, Earl Carter and Jeff Carter, all of Mansfield, Ohio, and Vincent Carter of Arizona; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a brother, Robert Carter; and two sisters, Delena Bolton and Georgetta Arnett.

There will be no funeral service or visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth.
