Edward Willis, 69
Edward Willis, 69, of New Boston, died Saturday evening, Oct. 27, 2012, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth.
He was born March 22, 1943, in Portsmouth to the late Foster and Magdalene Vendura Willis.
Edward was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later worked in maintenance at the Empire Detroit Steel Mill in New Boston.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Crane Willis, whom he married on Dec. 20, 1968, two children; a son, Don Willis and special friend Amy Holbrook of New Boston and a daughter, Becky Willis and husband Alan Daniel Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev., three grandchildren; Fletcher, Damon, and Dane. Edward is also survived by a sister, Mary McCallister (Bob) of Rosemount and two nephews, Rodney and Todd McCallister.
Graveside funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Greenup County, Ky.
Melcher Funeral Home in Portsmouth is handling the arrangements.
