No. 2 Clay took on No. 3 Waterford in a Division IV, Region 15, Jackson 2 Semifinal and lost in three sets 25-15, 25-22, 25-23 Thursday evening.

Clay defeated Manchester 25-10, 25-16, 25-11 Oct. 18 to reach Thursday’s semifinal at Jackson High School.

The Lady Panthers finish the 2012 season with a record of 20-4 and finished 12-2 in the SOC.

Waterford advances to play No. 1 Reedsville Eastern Saturday at Jackson. Reedsville Eastern defeated Leesburg Fairfield 25-13, 25-9, 25-2 Thursday evening.

Waverly, South Webster and Beaver Eastern are the only area volleyball teams remaining in postseason play.

Waverly plays Lancaster Fairfield Union in a Division II District Final at Southeastern, while South Webster and Beaver Eastern will face each other in a Division IV District Final at Jackson. Waverly’s contest will be at 4 p.m. while the South Webster-Eastern game will be at 5: 30 p.m.
