Three days after kicking the game-winning field goal to defeat Wheelersburg, freshman Bryce Romanello traded in his shoulder pads for shin guards and scored the game-winning goal to lift host and No. 2 Valley over No. 3 Leesburg Fairfield 1-0 in overtime in a boys Division III Southeast District Soccer Semifinal.
The goal was assisted by Rodney Hamilton. Scott Adkins recorded 17 saves in the win for the Indians, who travel Saturday night to Jackson High School to face perennial soccer power Berlin Hiland.

South Webster 2, Wheelersburg 0
For the third time this season, South Webster defeated Wheelersburg 2-0 in a soccer match.
This time, the win for the top-seeded Jeeps sends them to Saturday’s Division III Southeast District Final at Jackson High School. Derek Rowe and Kyle Keaton each had goals while Lance Swords turned away seven shots in the win.
Alex Dalton recored nine saves for the No. 5 Pirates in the loss. South Webster will take on Coshocton in the championship match.
Wheelersburg loses Mark and Alex Dalton, Quentin Sharp, Austin Clark and Ethan Hiles to graduation. It’s the first time since 2009 the Pirates have failed to make it to the district final, where they were also eliminated by the Jeeps.
