PDT Sports Report

For the second time this week, Notre Dame was defeated by a fellow Scioto County school on a tiebreaker.

The Minford Lady Falcons took a 3-2 win Thursday when the Lady Titans were forced to forfeit their second doubles contest because of a lack of players. The same fate fell upon Notre Dame Tuesday against Portsmouth.

The Lady Titans took the first two singles matches with wins by Jessica Schmidt and Katie O’Neill. The Lady Falcons took the third singles match, won by Emma Shepherd, and the pairing of Micaela Liles and Hannah Harris evened the event with a victory in first doubles.

Emily Joyce and Kristen Lewis were credited with the victory in second doubles via forefit. Minford travels to Jackson Monday.

Jessica Schmidt (ND) def. Jamie Justice (M) 6-4, 7-6

Katie O’Neill (ND) def. Katie Singer (M) 6-0, 6-1

Emma Shepherd (M) def. Tori Ruggles (ND) 6-0, 6-0

Micaela Liles/Hannah Harris (M) def. Trista Davis/Crystal Holtgrewe (ND) 7-5, 7-6

Emily Joyce/Kristen Lewis (M) won by forfeit
