PDT Sports Report

The Kentucky Warriors improved their flawless record to 8-0 Saturday evening with a 20-12 road win over the Cincinnati Falcons.

After two-straight games of the Kentucky defense allowing above its seasonal average, the Warriors held the Falcons to just 12 points on their home field.

David Mallory opened the scoring for Kentucky when he connected with Jermaine Payton for a 22-yard touchdown reception. The Warriors struck again with a Mallory touchdown pass to Chris Stamper spanning 39 yards for a two touchdown lead.

The Falcons got on the board with a 25-yard field goal to make it 14-3 and then struck again with a 32-yard field goal making it 14-6. The margin was narrowed further by a 14-yard touchdown run by Cincinnati to make it 14-12 before the two-point conversion failed.

But JoJo Parker’s 42-yard run with less than a minute remaining in the contest to make it 20-12 assured Kentucky its eighth win of the season and another week in the top three of the 2012 Eastern Red Power Ratings.

Offensively, Mallory had a solid game under center passing for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 10 completions in 12 attempts. Parker paced the rushing attack with 106 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

Stamper led the team in receiving yardage with 39 on one reception but Payton had four receptions for 35 yards. Stamper and Payton each had a touchdown reception.

Defensively, Tyrone Allen led the way for Kentucky with three tackles for a loss.

The Warriors will have a bye this weekend but will return to action when they visit the Tri-State Sharks July 28.
