Valley Tennis coach Jill Davis has earned the SOC Division II Coach of the Year Award for the 2012 season.

Davis’ boy’s tennis team won the SOC II Division title this year with a 16-0 season marking Valley’s first boys’ SOC title since joining Division II.

Davis has been the head tennis coach since 2005, adding a girl’s team to Valley and coaching them to an SOC Divison title in 2007 and a girl’s doubles (Michelle Mains and Alexa Pratt) title in 2008 and 2009.

Davis was assisted this season by Jennifer Johnson and Jeremy Duncan. Davis has been an avid tennis player since the early 1980’s and has been a member of local leagues over the years.

She has also been a member of USTA state and national teams and will be traveling with the Portsmouth Women’s 3.5 team to Louisville, Kentucky for the Adult State Championships this month.
