The annual Portsmouth Civic Forum’s Fourth of July fireworks display in downtown Portsmouth will be Wednesday, July 4, beginning at 10 p.m. on the Ohio River near Grant Bridge.

If it rains, the show will be postponed to July 5 at 10 p.m.

The Civic Forum has been hosting the Portsmouth fireworks for more than 75 years. More than 18,000 people are expected to line the shores of the riverfront, and even more will watch from nearby buildings and from Kentucky.

Gene Arms, of the Civic Forum, said the band Geneva will be performing at the amphitheater at 7 p.m., and concession stands and vendors will also set up along the riverfront.

I for one believe they should cancel this because of the noise and the smell, if people can complain about the Columbia Music Hall I can complain about this
