Charles Calvin Locher, 66, of Piketon Road, Lucasville, died Friday, April 20, 2012 at his residence.

Born June 8, 1945, in Scioto County, a son of the late Calvin H. and Eva L. (Hanes) Locher, he was a self-employed farmer and a Madison Township Trustee. He was a member and trustee at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, and a graduate of Stockdale High School in class of 1963, where he played basketball. He was a member of Lucasville Masonic Lodge No. 465 and The Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rites.

He is survived by his wife, Linda (Kallner) Locher, whom he married on January 2, 1965; one daughter and son-in-law, Lesley and Bruce Book of Sciotoville; two grandchildren, Rachel Book of Sidney, Ohio, and Charles Brandon Book of Sababo, Japan; a brother, Herbert “Herb” (Dena) Locher of Macon, Georgia; a sister, Barbara Jane Tackett of Cincinnati, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Pastor Tim Palla officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
