A Portsmouth man faces several felony charges after being arrested Friday afternoon. Dominique Crayton, 25, is charged with trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, and possession of criminal tools, all felonies.

Acting Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said members of the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force executed a search warrant about 3 p.m. at 1219 ½ Findlay St. The task force consists of narcotics detectives from the Portsmouth Police Department, the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office and agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation,

Detectives said they found about 6 grams of heroin, digital scales and $868 cash during the search.

Ware said additional charges will be presented to a Scioto County grand jury against Crayton, as well as additional suspects.

Ware thanked the public for their assistance and said anyone wishing to leave drug information for the Southern Ohio
