Earl Frederick Nichols, 69 of Friendship, Ohio, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at a Columbus hospital.

Earl was born June 2, 1938, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late David Earl and Laura Johnson Nichols. He was a member of the Faith Mountain Chapel. He was an electrician. He was loved by all.

Earl is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Bivens Nichols; two sons, Earl F. Nichols, of Colonial Beach, Va., and Paul W. Nichols, of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Wendy Pistole and Sonya Gay, of Friendship, and Lorna Kozee, of Columbus; three sisters, Linda Thomas, of North Carolina, Dotty Wentworth and Glenna Duncan, both of Portsmouth; 14 grandchildren, Trent, Karli, Mikey, Heather, Kodee, Kaleb, Micheal Jr., Matt, Paul, Kevin, Carrissa, Chad, Pauletta, and Randy; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman (Ted) Nichols; and two sisters, JoAnn Nichols McCoy and June Nichols Jewell.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Danny Thompson officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour before the service Friday.
