Members of the Scioto County Prescription Drug Action Team are remaining mum on an announcement they are expecting to make at Friday’s meeting at All Saints Episcopal Church at 610 Fourth St., Portsmouth.

The agenda calls for a special announcement concerning the Scioto County Prescription Drug Action Team and SOLACE (Surviving Our Losses and Continuing Everyday).

“We have received a major honor,” Lisa Roberts RN, said. “I’ll let Chief (Charles) Horner tell you about it.”

The agenda also calls for a Save Our Kids levy update, a Portsmouth pain clinic ordinance update and what they refer to as “the latest efforts to circumvent House Bill 93,”

Horner will talk about the recent Detroit drug ring arrests and indictments, and a $50,000 grant received by the Minford School District to use in drug and violence prevention.

Several subcomittee’s will report on their activities, including SOLACE, HCP Committee and Physicians Task Force, Education Committee, Offender Re-entry Planning Committee, Scioto County Coalition for Drug Prevention, Poison Death Review Committee, Community Health Assessment Committee, and the Faith-based Coalition.
